Preparation of Salts.

CS: 6.9 Preparation of salts

LS: 6.9.2 Describe the preparation of a soluble salt through activity.

LO: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to construct a concept map of preparation of soluble and insoluble salt by listing 7 steps and supporting them with suitable examples.

What is salt in acid, base and salt?

  • Salt is an ionic substance formed by the neutralisation of acids and bases. Salts are made up of positively charged ions called cations and negatively charged ions called anions, which can be organic or inorganic in composition. Because these ions are present in a relative proportion, the salt's nature is neutral.

  • A salt is a material formed by the interaction of an acid and a base in chemistry. Positive ions (cations) of bases and negative ions (anions) of acids make up salts. The neutralisation process occurs when acid and base react.

ACTIVITY:

Based on your understanding, prepare a concept map on the preparation of soluble and insoluble salt. You can refer the example provided below by one of our author.

You can use any website or platform to create your concept map, and you can be as creative as you can as long as you can understand your concept map's content.

Feel free to share your concept map with your friends by uploading it to the Padlet. This way, you can always comes back to do some revision and at the same time you will also get to share and gain other ideas from the shared poster in that platform.

Here's the link to the iScience Padlet.
